The most age-old flowering plant known to mankind, the Magnolia flowering plant is a native to West Indies and to the districts of Central and North America. The flower is named after the French botanist Pierre Magnol. Blooming in the hues of pink, white and purple, Magnolia flowers possess breadth of 3-12 inches of diameters and do not produce honey (as they are deprived of true petals and sepals and instead are composed of petal-like tepals) but yield pollens in huge amount. For the reason of getting created before the bees, the Magnolia blossoms can only be pollinated by the beetles and not by the bees. The Southern Magnolia flowering plant, mostly found in North America grows as long as 50 feet of height.

Magnolias essentially illustrate the feminine aspect of life. White Magnolia conveys the vibes of chastity and honor and is the symbol of the Moon or any lunar Goddess and for magic done on Mondays. Magnolia is the official state flower of the American States of Louisiana and Mississippi. The fragrant magnolia, also called Siebold's magnolia (Magnolia sieboldii) is North Korea's national flower. Classical Chinese medicine availed the buds and bark of the Magnolia plant for healing procedures related to anxiety and angiogenic problems.
